Avaron built and customized the shopping cart currently used at RoadBikeRider.com using PHP and a MySQL database. This shopping cart uses cookies for retaining the items in the cart, and has been engineered to work with as many different browsers and operating system as possible. The product database is fully manageable from an online administration page. Complex shipping calculations were no problem for our development team, which devised a way to accurately calculate shipping for items being delivered around the globe.

RoadBikeRider.com mailing list

The folks at RoadBikeRider.com happily send out a weekly newsletter to over 23,000 subscribers, using the mailing list management system created by Avaron Web Solutions. Written predominantly in Perl, this mailing list solution features double opt-in subscribing and unsubscribing, as well as an online account management tool for subscribers. Special security measures were put in place to make it virtually impossible for anyone to email the list without authorization.

EDM search tool and product database

With a paper catalog containing hundreds and hundreds of parts, creating an online, searchable product database was no simple matter. Using Perl and a simple text-based database, Avaron Web Solutions converted EDM's entire catalog to a web-based system.
